How to get a US visa:
Why you will have to offer the data of your social networks if you want to obtain a visa
If you plan to do a USA visa aplicattion or renew the one you already have, you will also have to think about what you publish on Facebook or Twitter.
And, as announced by the State Department of USA, most people who apply for a US visa will have to send their social media data along with their applications.
In accordance with the new regulations, interested parties, in addition to all the documentation that is already required, must also provide in the USA visa appointment, email addresses and telephone numbers that they have used in the last five years.
The new required information, which was first announced last year, according to the government, seeks greater security control over visa applicants
"We are constantly working to find mechanisms that improve our screening processes to protect US citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States," said the Department, the immigration authorities estimated that the proposal would affect 14.7 million people a year.
Who should offer the new information?
Under the new regulations, most people who apply for a United States visa must submit information about their social networks. Therefore, the new visa application forms list a number of social platforms and require the applicant to provide the account names they currently use or that they used during the last five years. The application also includes the option to offer voluntary information about accounts of other social networks that do not appear on the form.
Certain applicants for diplomatic visas and officials will be exempt from the new measures, according to the State Department. However, people traveling to the United States for tourism or for work or study must provide their information.
